John Prine will be Cancelling Upcoming Tours to Undergo Surgery

by

John Prine announced the cancellation of his upcoming tour on his Instagram post. The Americana singer will be undergoing surgery to insert a stent. This will, in turn, prevent the Grammy-winning singer from having a stroke.

The singer consulted with his doctors. It was suggested that an earlier surgery must be done for a better chance of avoiding stroke. The surgery will be done anytime this week and if successful, the singer will have a speedy recovery.

Upcoming Tours and Health Update

John Prine is not in critical condition. They will only do the surgery as a preventive measure for his risk of getting a stroke. The singer has had his fair share of health issues in the past. Prine battled with lung cancer back in 2013 and was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer back in 1998. He needed to have speech therapy so that he can sing again.

We, at Country Thang Daily, are hoping for a successful surgery. The singer’s next scheduled performances are in Europe. It will be held in late August and September, followed by additional fall shows back in the United States.
