Kelsea Ballerini Announces Split From Husband Morgan Evans After Nearly Five Years Of Marriage

Things are over between Kelsea Ballerini and husband Morgan Evans, as the two country musicians are calling it quits after nearly five years of marriage.

The two-time Grammy Award nominee filed for divorce on Friday (August 26), reportedly citing “irreconcilable differences.” She then took to social media, writing to fans, to address the unexpected split – which she describes as a “deeply difficult decision.”

“I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,” the singer wrote in a lengthy statement, sharing a part of her life “in a real and vulnerable way.”

While it was sudden and unforeseen to many fans out there, Ballerini assured that it “is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort” that has sadly reached its ultimate end. Despite that, she noted that she’s “extremely grateful” for the years she’s been married to Morgan, and she’s hoping for nothing but the best. 

Ballerini and Evans first met in 2016 when they hosted Australia’s Country Music Channel Awards together. Sparks instantly flew for the two, and they got hitched a year and a half later – exchanging vows in an intimate ceremony on a beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Morgan Evans has also confirmed the split on his Instagram page a few moments after the sad news broke out. “Kelsea and I are parting ways,” the country crooner wrote. “I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not.”

Kelsea Ballerini has since asked fans to be more considerate and compassionate as they both heal their hearts amidst their “very active schedules.”

Ballerini is currently gearing up for the release of her brand-new album, Subject to Change, and will embark on her Heartfirst Tour. Meanwhile, Evans is one of Brad Paisley‘s special guests on his World Tour 2022 that kicked off last May.
