The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees of 2020 are ready and several country artists will join dozens more to honor this year’s inductees.

Happening on November 7, 2020, country stars Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, and Gwen Stefani will join dozens of other artists to give honor to this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

This year’s inductees include Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., and T. Rex for the “Performer Category” while Jon Landau and Irving Azoff will be recognized on the “Ahmet Ertegun Award.”

Other artists like Sean “Diddy” Combs, Miley Cyrus, Dave Grohl, Don Henley, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Chris Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bruce Springsteen, St. Vincent, Ringo Starr and Charlize Theron will all be a part of the celebration.

The 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction will not be featuring any country artists but several new electees hold a close connection with country music. One of which is Whitney Houston’s best selling song “I Will Always Love You.” Dolly Parton, penned and originally recorded the tune in 1974. Houston’s own rendition has been a certified 8X Platinum by the RIAA for selling for 8 million units.

And there’s Doobie Brothers’ “South Bound.” The 2014 album featured several collaborations with some of the brightest stars in country music. This includes Blake Shelton in ”Listen to the Music,” Brad Paisley in “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” Toby Keith in “Long Train Runnin” and Zac Brown Band in “Black Water.”

Luke Bryan and the Dobbie Brothers were also featured on one of the episodes of the CMT Crossroads in 2011.

Country and Rock & Roll

Over the years, there were only 11 country artists that have been recognized and inducted in both the Country Music Hall of Fame and on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. These were Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, The Everly Brothers, Hank Williams, Brenda Lee, Sam Phillips, Floyd Cramer, Chet Atkins, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Rogers, and Bob Wills.

While there’s only a handful of them that were pure country acts, Johnny Cash was still voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame without having any specialty under his belt.

Though most country artists focused on refining their crafts as a country artist and were unbending on other genres, these 11 acts by famed country stars have proven that one can maintain a stable Country Music portfolio and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame dossier.

The virtual induction ceremony will air on Nov 7 at 8:00 PM ET on HBO and HBO MAX.
