Chris Stapleton Kids: Get To Know The Country Powerhouse’s Five Children

Whenever Chris Stapleton is not touring or recording new songs, his hands are full at home with a bustling brood of young children. The 42-year-old country superstar is a proud dad to five kids. 

However, Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane Stapleton, are pretty private about their family life. They keep their kids out of the public eye, though they occasionally pop up via Morgane’s Instagram. So here’s what we do know about Chris Stapleton’s children.

Waylon and Ada

Chris and Morgane’s eldest children, a son and a daughter, have remained out of the spotlight ever since they were born. In fact, the country parents are so protective of their children. They had previously never mentioned their names in public. Though the two kids sometimes appear Morgane’s Instagram posts, you will never see their faces.

Things changed during the 2018 CMA Awards, where Chris nabbed three big wins, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year. So when it was time to deliver his speech for his fourth straight win of Male Vocalist of the Year, the country singer got pretty emotional. He thanked his kids for being patient with his busy schedule, “I want to thank my kids, who put up with me being gone quite a bit and not getting to be as good of a dad as I would always like to be.”

Then, Chris quickly mentioned his two eldest kids’ names for the first time in public: “Waylon and Ada, if you’re out there tonight, and the twin boys, and the one on the way, I love you so much,” the country superstar said.

And on a very rare occasion, Waylon and Ada walked with their dad on the red carpet for the Toy Story 4 premiered in 2019. Both kids were donning colorful printed outfits, posing beside the life-size Toy Story characters. Chris Stapleton recorded the song “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” for the film.

On April 15, 2018, Chris Stapleton’s 40th birthday, he did not only win Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at Academy of Country Music Awards, but he also welcomed his twin boys into the world.

Chris had to skip the 2018 ACM Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she gave Reba McEntire the honor to announce the good news. When Chris was declared as the winner of Album of the Year at the awards show, host Reba McEntire hopped up on stage and explained that the country star wasn’t at the awards show because of Morgane’s impending due date.

 “We just found out that those little rascals came a little bit early,” McEntire said, she added that Chris and Morgane were home in Nashville with their new babies. “Hot off the press!”

Chris, later on, turned to Instagram to thank Reba, “Thank you for sharing our good news @Reba! We couldn’t have dreamed up a better day. Morgane & the boys are doing great & we appreciate everyone’s support!”

Indeed, the twins arrived early, more than a month, to be exact. Morgane explained that their early arrival meant a week-long stay in the NICU at Nashville’s Centennial Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

When the boys finally came home, Chris’ wife Morgane shared a sweet photo of herself cuddling the twins. Chris, later on, revealed that they are sleeping less ever since the twins arrived. “Well, you know, it’s like a baby times two, so we sleep less than having one baby,” he said.

As for Waylon and Ada, they are doing better than expected. “They’re super helpful and kind and sweet to them, and I’m so proud of them,” the proud dad boasts. “They’re doing far better than I would have expected for the loss of attention that they have received in the last few months. So they’re remarkable individuals.”

Early on, Chris revealed he had a total giggle fit the moment he knew Morgane was pregnant with twins. “I think I laughed for about 20 minutes straight when they told us. I was just shocked,” the “Tennessee Whiskey” singer revealed. “I didn’t know what else to do. … I was in shock. Shocked is the only word.”

“It wasn’t a laugh, it was more like a giggle. He giggled for like 25 minutes,” Morgane added.

During the pregnancy, the pair chose not to reveal the gender of their third and fourth child, but their eldest kids were hoping for a baby brother and a baby sister. 

“They want one of each, so they each get a new buddy, that’s what they say,” Morgane said. “I’ll see what I can do,” she jokingly said too. “I don’t want to find out, but the kids want to find out, so I think we’re gonna find out. I lost that fight.”

Just seven months after Chris and Morgane Stapleton welcomed twin boys, the country superstar announced that they are expecting their fifth child. And the new baby arrived some time before Mother’s Day in 2019, though they never gave the exact birth date.

A month after, Morgane turned to Instagram to reveal their baby’s gender. She posted a black-and-white hospital snapshot of the newborn and wrote in the caption: “Sweet boy … It’s hard to believe almost a month has already gone by. Time flies faster than I ever thought imaginable. My heart is so full!”

Yes, that’s right! It’s a baby boy. The photo also marked the first time the couple has shared their baby boy’s face, though they never revealed his name.

As much as we want to see more of Chris and Morgan Stapleton kids, the country parents are working so hard to preserve their children’s privacy on and off the road. And so far, they’re doing a pretty great job.

“I am a very private person, and in that respect, I keep my children out of it. They’re children, and they deserve the chance to be children,” Chris said.
