Rodney Crowell, The Musically Talented Man

Rodney Crowell was born on August 7, 1950. Coming from a musical family, Crowell had his love of country music primarily from his grandparents. His grandfather was a church choir leader, his grandmother played the guitar, and his father was a semi-professional musician who played in bars. He started playing drums in his father’s band at the age of 11.

In 1972, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee in search for a music career. Jerry Reed discovered Crowell’s talent at a bar. After two days, Crowell signed into Reed’s publishing company. A few years later, Crowell, as a guitarist, joined Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band. He later became one of the primary songwriters.

It was in 1978 when he started producing tracks from the album “Right or Wrong.” He was married to Rosanne Cash. Unfortunately, the marriage did not last but his career further blossomed. He then married Claudia Church in 1998 continuing his work as a song writer, producer, and singer.
