Nashville star and singer-songwriter Hayden Panettiere have accused her boyfriend Brian Hickerson of domestic violence that stemmed from an early May incident involving the Nashville star.

According to TMZ’s close sources, Panettiere and Hickerson were out drinking together in Hollywood early May before heading back to their home. Afterward, it is alleged that the couple had an argument that turned physical, and at some point, police were involved in the situation.
Police showed up at 2 in the morning and had noticed the distinct red marks on Panettiere’s body. After investigating, it was found out that Hickerson allegedly started the fight, and was ultimately arrested.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Hickerson has been involved with a domestic dispute. Last November, Panettiere, and Hickerson were reportedly involved in a drunken altercation with Hickerson’s father.

According to People magazine, the couple’s relationship has been a source of concern among the actress’ friends. One source told the magazine that Hickerson had a ‘bad temper,’ and ‘can be controlling.’
“Hayden knows Brian has a bad temper and can be controlling, but there is an extreme attraction to it. And despite warnings from family and friends, the relationship seems solid […] Brian’s reputation as a party boy is no secret in Hollywood. Those close to Hayden are more worried than ever about this and his temper. But Hayden is taken with him. She thinks he is what she needs in her life now.”
The 29-year-old actress’ partner was charged by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office and could face up to four years in prison. Hickerson has also been charged with one felony count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, or girlfriend.
Hickerson pleaded not guilty when he appeared at his arraignment on Thursday. This is where a judge had issued a protective order against him. The actor is now forbidden from coming close with the Nashville star. The 30-year-old also cannot reach out to his girlfriend from any means such as email or phone calls and is also banned from possessing any firearms.
