Willie Nelson is undeniably a versatile artist who can sing in different genres. The best thing about him is that he never loses his identity with every song, whether it would be a cover or an original. There’s just something about his voice that can either move you to tears or make you stand on your feet and do the grooves.
This time, with his cover of “Wind Beneath My Wings,” Nelson teaches us to give back gratitude to people who helped us along the way of our journey. I believe all of us went thru different challenges in life, and we couldn’t have survived without the presence of certain people.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
To never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that’s your way.
You always walked a step behind.
No Man is an Island
The line, “No man is an island” may have become a cliché but it is absolutely true. However strong we think we are, we definitely need somebody to complete us. They may not be the people we expected, but they are appointed by God to play an important role in our lives.
Sometimes, we don’t even notice other people’s sacrifices. Not until we’ve got nothing that we get to realize their efforts. It is therefore imperative to find a way to extend the most sincere gratitude to those who’ve taken part in any success we’ve ever attained.
Thank you, Father
Let’s take this time to thank God especially, for all these favors we continue to receive. Admit it, that we tend to follow our personal desires before considering His plans for us. Yet, we even question Him every time we face the consequences of our compromises.
How about trying to live a day thanking God for every favor that lies around the corner. It’s just a matter of opening our eyes and heart, and we’ll see the unprecedented blessings swaying around us. Let us thank our Heavenly Father for these people who, in one way or another, make us experience the true essence of living. In the end, our Heavenly Father is our greatest Hero, the wind beneath our wings that keeps us flying.
Did you ever know that you’re my hero,
And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
For you are the wind beneath my wings.
