Through time, we will meet a lot of people, and some of them will leave a great impact on our lives. Thus, the biggest change that will happen is that if we have Jesus within us.
As our pastor always says,
“He who is in Him will find rest and will have peace for the rest of his life”.
Well, I guess that’s true, and my parents are living testimonies of this.
“The Award Winning Voice”
Rhonda Lea Vincent or as The Wall Street Journal proclaimed “The New Queen of Bluegrass,” is an American bluegrass singer, songwriter, and a multi-instrumentalist. Further, she started as a gospel singer when she was five. She sang for her family’s band called the “Sally Mountain Show.”
Even though she is performing with her family’s band, she released her first solo album in 1988, “New Dreams and Sunshine.” Vincent was also awarded the Female Vocalist of the Year (2000-2006) by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Also, she received the Entertainer for the year (2002-2006) awarded by The Society for Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America. Lastly, in 2001 IBMA awarded her Entertainer of the Year. Truly, her talent is amazing scooping all those awards.
“Goin’ back to Her Roots”
Vincent was first known as a gospel singer, and now she is goin’ back to where she started. There’s a lot of singers who covered “What a Friend we have in Jesus,” but her version of the song is unique. Indeed, she is “The New Queen” incorporating her style to the song. Using only string instruments on the background, deviating from the traditional gospel style.
What a Friend we have in Jesus talks about how our life would be at the LLord’sside. To begin with, we will face a lot of trials and hardships in life but if we will give it all to Him who created us, nothing is impossible.
Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield thee
Thou wilt find a solace there
The lyrics of this beautiful gospel hymn have served as a universal anthem in times of trouble, insecurity and doubt. If you feel that you need a friend just run to your prayer room and He will be there for your comfort.
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in read of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
