Patched with the voice of Vern Gosdin, it can sweep you off your feet. Besides, the song can bring back the good country sounds in the 80s. With this, let’s reminisce the good old days and remember “The Voice” Vern Gosdin through the song.

Sandy Pinkard and Rob Strandlund pooled resources for the words and lyrics of the song. Vern Gosdin recorded the song in 1983 and released in 1984. Additionally, the song was part of his album “There is a Season.” It placed at number one spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart making it as one of his three singles to reach at number one.

Vern Gosdin was doubtful the first time the song was presented to him. He thought the song was too Rock and Roll. The song then was shelved for two years after it was pitched to him. Later on, he decided to record “I can Tell by the Way You Dance (You’re Gonna Love Me Tonight).”
