September 8th, 2017 is a day filled with tears of sadness and of ‘gone too soon’s’ as the other half of Montgomery Gentry, Troy Gentry faced a sudden and tragic death at 1 PM today in Medford, New Jersey after the unfortunate Helicopter crash.
The bankable country duo of Montgomery Gentry was supposed to grace the Flying W Airport & Resort in Medford, NJ to perform their chart-topping hits.

The official social media accounts of Montgomery Gentry indeed confirm the sudden death of the country duo’s other half, Gentry. As per the social media postings, the details of the helicopter crash are still unknown but his sudden death asks the fans for continuous prayers and privacy.
Here’s the full statement released by Montgomery Gentry:
“It is with great sadness that we confirm that Troy Gentry, half of the popular country duo, Montgomery Gentry, was tragically killed in a helicopter crash which took place at approximately 1:00pm today in Medford, New Jersey. The duo was scheduled to perform tonight at the Flying W Airport & Resort in Medford. Troy Gentry was 50 years old.
Details of the crash are unknown.
Troy Gentry’s family wishes to acknowledge all of the kind thoughts and prayers, and asks for privacy at this time.”

Reportedly, Montgomery Gentry’s handler, Average Joes Entertainment canceled the said New Jersey performance even before Gentry was declared a victim of the Helicopter crash.
On NJ.com website which picked up the news before Troy Gentry was declared one of the dead passengers, it has been noted that the Helicopter crashed at Flying W Airport, Friday afternoon. The helicopter was a Schweizer 269 that said to have crashed into a wooded area off of Runway 1 at the airport as per the reports of the Federal Aviation Administration.
It was also established that the Medford Township Police got a call about a “helicopter that was distressed” around 1 PM. After the fatal accident, emergency crews who responded as soon as possible were able to free the passenger who was later identified as Troy Gentry but the country star did not survive the injuries after being taken to Virtua Hospital Marlton. The driver was immediately killed in the crash.
Ultimately, Troy Gentry dies at 50 years old and is survived by daughter Kaylee and Taylor and his wife, Angie McClure.
