One of Tracy Byrd’s most notable song is “The Keeper of the Stars.” Dickey Lee, Danny Mayo and Karen Staley combined their writing talents to complete the song. The song successfully reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks, which is now known as Hot Country Songs. Released in February 1995, it is the fourth and last single from his album No Ordinary Man. A year after its release, the song reached another accomplishment with it being named as Song of the Year by the Country Music Association.
The ballad song is an expression of gratitude to that undefined being whom, he believe have been arranging events for the best, especially with his relationships. He calls the being, “the keeper of the stars” since he seemed to have been responsible for making his wishes come true. With this song, I guess, it’s but proper to reflect that we are not solely responsible for every good things we receive, someone out there is watching us. he is making sure that we stay on safe sides and we get what we duly deserve from this life. Look up, and feel his eyes centered on you.
I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin’
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I’ve got all I’ll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars
