Sometimes we feel lonely, sad, and down. At these moments, where do you go, what do you do to ease the emptiness? Is there someone who pampers you, or do you make yourself better on your own? Most of the time, if we feel blue, everything goes blue, too. Even the stars go blue.

Tim McGraw’s “When The Stars Go Blue” is about someone being alone and isolated. It is merely like the sky; the stars go along with the feeling of lonesomeness. Despite the simple words and lyrics of the song, it still has a significant impact. Also, the melody of the song can strike you.

The Song…

Ryan Adams is the songwriter behind “When The Stars Go Blue.” The song was first released on September 25, 2001, under his album “Gold.” Unfortunately, the song, with the representation of Adams,  primarily received less response from the audience due to Adam’s bipolar choice of music. With this, the song has been affected which received adverse reactions through the words and lyrics have it all.

Thanks to Tim McGraw, “When The Stars Go Blue” skyrocketed and penetrated the listeners specifically the country music obsessives. It then became a plain country song. With Tim McGraw’s version, it reached No.4 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Another positive feedback, the song became the Top Country Singles of 2006.

On the other hand, “When The Stars Go Blue” was part of McGraw’s album “Tim McGraw Reflected: Greatest Hits Vol. 2”. Also, McGraw’s version was released on March 6, 2006.

The Lyrics…

Dancin’…

…When the stars go blue

…The evening fell

…Dancin’ in your wooden shoes

In a wedding gown

Dancin’…

…out on 7th street

Dancin’ through the underground

…with the marionette

Are you happy now?

Where do you go…

…When you’re lonely?

…You’re blue?

…When you’re lonely?

I’ll follow you

When the stars go blue

Stars go blue

Laughin’…

…With your pretty mouth

…Your broken eyes

…With your lover’s tongue

In a lullaby

Where do you go…

…When you’re lonely?

…You’re blue?

…When you’re lonely?

I’ll follow you
