Ryman Auditorium, Nashville—The royal country couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill wrap their Soul2Soul World Tour up exactly 10 months after they announced the tour to their fans. Not wanting to make any part of their show’s finale a let-down, they filled each performance with several of their hit songs. The performances were bedazzled by head bangin’ rock guitars and laser lights.
Surprisingly, it has also been 10 years since the power couple last toured together. McGraw and Hill mesmerized fans not just with their pure amazing musical talent—they were also awed by the couple’s strengthened relationship after 21 blissful years of loving and spending time with one another.
McGraw and Hill’s grand entrance was accentuated by laser beams, neon lights, and lights with perfectly angled shapes. The backdrop was lustrous and modern, and the lights began to dim as the show was nearing its commencement. Then, a timer flashed on the thin curtain panel that enveloped the stage. Two black, rectangular boxes emerged from underneath the stage, and McGraw and Hill appeared as soon as the rectangular objects disappeared.
They belted “I Knew You Were Waiting” as the song to open their show. The crowd went crazy.
Things began to heat up as the singing lovebirds had a stare down contest as “Break First” came to a near end. During their previous shows, Faith Hill had always won the said challenge. But the final night of their performance was unlike all the previous tours. As she shows off her majestic and power-packed vocal range, Hill was distracted halfway through their eye-to-eye contest, broke off eye contact then began laughing. McGraw happily claimed victory, but Hill good-humoredly stomped her feet then retorted that she wanted a do-over. But, Tim refused and chose to revel in his triumph, “I don’t get many minutes in my house….” He adds and explains how he’s constantly surrounded by estrogen with Faith and their 3 daughters. “Let me enjoy this.”
The couple’s bombastic duet of both new songs and fan favorites made the event even more enjoyable and memorable. Their final song was “I Need You”, and they performed it with such intimacy and raw honesty of emotions. They were seated on a platform while they faced each other. As they sang the final words, Faith leaned in to gently plant a kiss on Tim’s lips.
Thanks to the undeniable energy and chemistry between Tim and Faith Hill, the audience felt as though they were celebrating Valentine’s Day in advance with their idols.
