THERE IS A GOD, How Much Proof Do You Need?

“There Is a God”

“There Is a God” is a ballad that describes the wonders of God’s creations. From things of beauty to lives as proof that “There is a God.”

Watch a flock of birds
against the morning sun
Close your eyes and listen
to the river run
Catch a firefly in your hand
or a raindrop on your tongue
That’s right

Penned by Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley, the song was first recorded by Trent Willmon for his 2007 album Broken In. His version was released as a single in late 2007, although it failed to chart. Lee Anne Womack recorded her own version of the song and a positive response from country radio led to its single release. Music critics reviewed the song favorably and described it as Womack’s return to a more “contemporary” country sound. This song may not please the traditionalists who enjoyed the last couple of albums from Lee Ann Womack but it’s also not as pop as “I Hope You Dance” was, but it might just reach as many people with the strong lyrics and Lee Ann’s expert delivery of them.

Reba McEntire later covered the song for her 2017 album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.

Is there a God?

When it comes to the possibility of God’s existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen sufficient evidence, but they have suppressed the truth about God. On the other hand, for those who want to know if God really is there, he says,

“You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you.”

Before you look at the facts surrounding his existence, ask yourself:

If God does exist, would I want to know him?

Does God exist? If you want to know, investigate Jesus Christ. We’re told that

“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

God does not force us to believe in him, though he could. Instead, he has provided sufficient proof of his existence for us to willingly respond to him. The earth’s perfect distance from the sun, the unique chemical properties of water, the human brain, DNA, the number of people who attest to knowing God, the gnawing in our hearts and minds to determine if God is there, and the willingness for God to be known through Jesus Christ.

Science says it’s all just circumstance
Like this whole worlds just an accident
But if you want to shoot that theory down,

Look around

Just look around
