Susan Ashton is both a contemporary Christian and country singer. She has hit songs on the Christian Charts and had four singles on the Hot Country Songs charts. Her highest hit song was in the latter years of the 1990s with “You’re Lucky I Love You.”

Her album in 1991 titled “Wakened by the Wind” was the best selling debut album of the Sparrow records. It cemented her career as a Christian and country singer. After knowing the success of her album, she said:

“That was so special and since I was so young and green, there was a real innocence in that process that’s still beautiful to me. I can listen to anything on that record, and it’s all very clear with distinct emotions attached to making it. I love everything about the lyrics, musicianship and instrumentation.”

Lyrics Breakdown

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus, Your name is power, breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery, yeah

The song intends to empower the faithful in Jesus’ powerful name. Whether you are in a bad situation or not, know that Jesus is always there by our side. We only have to trust His words and anything can happen.

Ever since there is always a mystery that even science could not explain. One that is constant is His creations and his miracles. I’m sure we all had an encounter of this amazing presence during our difficult times. And sometimes, the only thing we can do is to believe in the power of His name.
