It has been a while since we last heard from Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake. We talked about how the two performed together at the CMA Awards, singing Timberlake’s “Drink You Away” and Stapleton’s rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey”. That one performance was such a hit, that many credits it as being the catapult for Stapleton’s success as a solo artist. We also provided you a sneak peek of Justin Timberlake’s Man of The Woods album. Today, we will share a song within the album, performed by these two beloved performers and some updated on what we are expecting from them these coming months.
Two Different People Coming Together
A country singer-songwriter and a former boy band member turned pop star have the tiniest chance of being collaborators. But, in Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake‘s circumstance, the domino brings a perfect team-up. Certainly, their 2015 duo was not just a one-time collaboration. The two turned out to be friends and find many probabilities of working together. Following the huge success of their CMA Awards performance, Stapleton and Timberlake knew they had so many good things going on. Later, the two got together to pen a new song, which turned into a little track: “Say Something”.
“Say Something” was released as the third single off of Timberlake’s album Man of the Woods. As expected, “Say Something” was as big of a hit. Just look at the youtube views right now running at two-hundred sixteen million views. It climbed as high as the ninth spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 and the eighth spot on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.
Is there Another One Coming?
Just with “Say Something”, it is no doubt that the Stapleton and Timberlake team-up brings success. Will they have another recording again, soon? Also, will they take the drop and issue a full album together? Stapleton recently took some time to chat with Billboard offstage before he performed at CMA Fest in Nashville on June 9. Stapleton said something about fans not having seen the last of him and Timberlake as a duo yet.
So, that may have meant it is possible that we will hear more from Stapleton and Timberlake. Maybe not too soon, but yes!
