Legend has it that this song came across Hank Williams when he was thinking about his first wife while driving around his second. Her second wife wrote down the lyrics for him in the passenger seat. On September 23rd, 1952, Williams recorded ‘Your Cheatin’ Heart’ during the last sessions he ever did. He told a friend it’s the best heart song he ever penned. Sadly, he never got to hear it become one of the biggest country standards of all time, having died weeks before its release.
Cash Singleton, Little Hank Williams Sr.
Yes! He’s here once again. We first heard his solo version of Buck Owen’s ‘Tiger by The Tail’. How he roared every line was totally fiery!
6-year-old Cash Singleton might be young that time, but this little cowboy has more charm than even the biggest teenage heartthrobs on the music scene. Dressed wholly in the best cowboy attire, the little Southern charmer astounded his performance of the country classic in the semi-finals of the Kentucky Opry’s talent search competition back in April of 2016. His extraordinary rendition of ‘Your Cheatin’ Heart’ drove the young talent into the next round of the competition. He sang effortlessly wonderful with a thick southern twang. You might say this is a strange choice for a 6-year-old, but you have to admit the boy has got really serious vocals on him. Of course, he won the competition.
Singing his heart out to country hits, he gained a lot of fans and we are sure his career is in the making. When you look at this kid, you realize that folk music is his calling. It is a rare phenomenon since most children grow on modern hits and don’t know the artists of the past. Cash Singleton, however, is willful to show the magnificence of real country music.
Surely, Hank Williams Sr. would have loved to watch his performances.
