“Perfect:” Ed Sheeran’s Smash Hit

It is undeniable that popular tunes dominate the music industry. In fact, there are a lot of songs from a certain genre that crosses over pop music. This crossover is very common that even country songs have also gone to the pop charts.

In recent times, one of the most famous artists in the pop genre is English singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran. He started his career in 2004, but he has gone worldwide with his hit “Thinking Out Loud” released in 2014. From then on, Sheeran released more top-performing hits like “Photograph,” “Dive,” “Supermarket Flowers,” “Happier,” and “Shape of You” to name a few. Just last year, he released his smash hit, “Perfect,” dominating charts around the world.

Written by Sheeran himself, “Perfect” was his fourth single on his third album, ÷ (2017). Released on September 26, 2017, the song went on for global success. In fact, it clinched the no. 1 spot in the U.K. and in 16 other countries, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand.

With the song’s massive popularity, many other artists rendered their versions and cover. In country music, one of the few artists, who have sung their heart out to the tune, was former American Idol contestant and country artist Josh Gracin.

The song has become very famous in late 2017 and has gone to conquer around the world. Thus, it even caught the attention of a few country singers, including Josh Gracin.

Gracin’s music career started after he placed fourth on the second season of famed singing competition, American Idol. From then, he toured around the country to promote his music.

Recently, Gracin covered one of his favorite Ed Sheeran songs, “Perfect.” While Sheeran’s original version is more of the upbeat style, Gracin, on the other hand, opted to make it slow and acoustic. Moreover, his vocals certainly gave it a countrified twist, making it more romantic than it ever was.
