Guess we can all agree that Morgan Wallen’s “Sand in My Boots” is the best songwriting on his record-breaking sophomore album, Dangerous: The Double Album – where it was released as the third single.
The song quickly became an instant hit with country fans that it ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs chart. But more importantly, “Sand in My Boots” marked the country music sensation’s return to radio since his songs were temporarily banned following the racial slur controversy he was involved in earlier last year.
It Resonated With Morgan Wallen The First Time He Heard It
Co-written by Michael HARDY, Ashley Gorley, and Josh Osborne, “Sands In My Boots” is a nostalgic ballad that tells the story of a lost love wherein one man got his heart broken after a woman he met on vacation refused to come home with him.
And the moment Morgan Wallen heard the song, he immediately fell in love with it. The funny thing is that he’s not the only country artist who wanted to record it – Luke Bryan wanted the heartbreaking love ballad for himself too. However, the songwriting trio feels like “Sand in My Boots” was made for Wallen.
“We thought that you could make it cool, so he missed out,” HARDY said to Wallen. And the country star did just that. Wallen placed his authentic vocals on full display in this slow groove ballad – and we can’t help but get hooked with it.
Cheers to Wallen for another success! We’re excited to see how Morgan Wallen songs would make their way to the top of the country charts next. Meanwhile, you can watch the video below and enjoy Wallen’s soulful voice in “Sand in My Boots.”
