Undeniably, Sammy Kershaw is one of the best country artists in the music industry. He has provided us with a song that we could relate to. Meanwhile, his songs can be the best descriptions of experiences towards life, love, and family. On the other hand, Sammy Kershaw placed the song on the Billboard charts which makes him one of the bests. “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” is perhaps, his signature song. However, one of his work of arts is “Third Rate Romance.” A song about the twisted fate of love.

Third Rate Romance…

Russell Smith wrote the words and lyrics of “Third Rate Romance.” Jesse Winchester along with his band “Rhythm Aces” initially recorded and released the song on June 23, 1975.  With this, the song is indeed a classic yet one of the best to reminisce the past. The first record skyrocketed which reached number eleven on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100.

Then, on August 30, 1994, Sammy Kershaw released his cover version. It was included on his album “Feelin’ Good Train.” Interestingly, Sammy Kershaw’s interpretation was accompanied by Russell Smith’s backing vocals.

Moreover, Sammy Kershaw’s rendition became a hit as well. It received a massive response from the country music obsessives. It even placed at number two on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

At a very young age, Sammy Kershaw started singing. He’s been singing as an opening act for the country legends such as Ray Price, Merle Haggard, and George Jones. These paved his way to the world of country music recording. He released his debut album “Don’t Go Near the Water” which was widely appreciated that it even became certified platinum.
