We human beings have differences that define our perceptions towards life. Our gender alone sets the variances. In many cases, we are somehow divided due to our goals, beliefs, and judgment. But somewhat, we become united at some point; this is because we believe that “Love Is Stronger Than Pride”. This merely our greatest defense against disagreement, denial, and partition.
The Lyrics And Its Meaning…
I saw your mama, and she said don’t call you
Talked to your best friend and she said no need to
But I had to tell you I hate how I hurt you
Now I know how bad I hurt me too
If I’ve gotta get down on my knees tonight I’ll do it
You want to see me cry then baby, let’s get to it
If I’ve gotta beg and plead
To make you see I need you in my life
Well, love is stronger than pride
The song is merely asking for forgiveness. The man made a mistake that hurt his partner, or should I say the love of his life. Also, the man is willing to do everything for the understanding and mercy of the woman. The lyrics describe the man is keen to beg and plead and even cry if it’s the only way to get the woman’s empathy. And this just means, the ego of the man can shrink because of love. The bottom line is, necessarily, “love is stronger than pride”.
I’ve got no right to ask you to forgive me
But I’ve got no choice ’cause it’s about to kill me
I’ve been headstrong and I was dead wrong
And one minute more without you are just too long
If I’ve gotta get down on my knees tonight, I’ll do it
You want to see me cry then baby, let’s get to it
If I’ve gotta beg and plead
To make you see I need you in my life
Well love is stronger than pride
If I’ve gotta beg and plead
To make you see I need you in my life
Well love is stronger than pride
If I’ve gotta beg and plead
The Interpretation In General…
There is diversity in “love” like love for the family, for friends, partner, and others. The degree of love that we have, and we can offer depends on what we get in return. It could be deep, intense, extreme, or even shallow. But most of all, if we bargain love, we expect reciprocation. But then, this love has a barrier, and that is “pride”. The pride that can lead us all to disagreement, denial and the most hurtful of them all is the partition. Because of pride that overwhelms us, it destroys the trust and the love that is within us. And the partition’s anecdote is love, the love which is higher than anything else. So for us to have inner peace and the love we deserve we should rub in that “love is stronger than pride”. With this, we can have the happiness we are longing.
