Trisha Yearwood Dispels Post-World Tour Retirement Rumors

Three and a half years ago, Trisha Yearwood, her husband, and fellow country singer Garth Brooks were in his latest global performance, The Garth Brooks World Tour. The musical event was a record-breaking one for the country music couple. As they traveled across different countries and states for the tour, they spent a total of over 200 days away from home while juggling other prior commitments such as Yearwood’s own Emmy-award winning cooking show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.

The tour was undeniably a very successful one, leaving even the couple singer stunned themselves. Yearwood even confessed in an interview that she was so nervous about the idea of embarking on a huge tour with her husband. While Trisha Yearwood claims to enjoy performing, thinking about how they would mingle their daily routines and family time with the tour made her so anxious. She couldn’t help but wonder how the entire show would fit into their lives at present.

But what caught them off-guard more was the sudden surfacing of rumors about their retirement. If you recall, Garth Brooks went on a 13-year-long hiatus at the very peak of his singing career. He was only 39 years old when he decided to walk away from his career to spend more time raising his three daughters. Then, in 2014, Brooks announced his major comeback in the music industry. He was already 52 and had grandkids when he decided to bask in the spotlight once again.

It was truly ironic how people would spread gossip about the couple’s retirement, especially after Brooks’ recent return to the music scene. Yearwood then clarifies that although the tour is set to reach its end by December, they certainly have no plans of retiring at all.

I’m going to do my own thing, do my own music and my own stuff—but this particular tour in this form will be done. It has been really intense, but it’s been so much fun.

Fans and critics can only muse on what’s next for both Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. If you ask us, we know they’ll soon be cooking up some exciting new music that’s sure to be a groundbreaking hit to fans of all ages.
