Collin Rayes’s first hit, “Love, Me”, is his second single from his debut album, All I Can Be. Penned by Skip Ewing and Max T. Barnes, the song details a wonderful romance from young love to last breath. Collin Raye earned a spot as one of country music’s best balladeers because of this song. Ever wonder what made the song an all-time favorite of many? Here goes a part of the lyrics,

If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away, Justin Moore
“If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” is not an ordinary Justin Moore style. It is his first platinum-selling hit of showing his gentle side. Moore knew the song was one that would resound his desires even when he heard it on an earlier Rhett Akins album, People Like Me.
“If Heaven wasn’t so far away, I’d pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa, Watch ’em laugh at the way he talks.”
Moore considers the song something that fell from the sky. Heaven, indeed!
Holes in the Floor of Heaven, Steve Wariner
“Holes in the Floor of Heaven” may not have happened without the help of the writers Steve Wariner Billy Kirsch’s wives. Wariner’s wife once told him,
“You guys have never written a story-type song, like a real, true story song. Why don’t you guys maybe go down that road a moment?”
On the other hand, it was Kirsch’s wife, Julie, who gave her husband the title “Holes in the Floor of Heaven”, while the guys placed the emotional tune.
The song’s lyrics,

earned Wariner both a CMA and an ACM for Song of the Year.

If Heaven, Andy Riggs
Gretchen Peters penned “If Heaven”, and Andy Griggs included it in his final album, This I Gotta See. According to Peters she had the verses written for a long time but struggles a lot with the chorus. In the end, she finally realized that it was just as simple as saying “If that’s what Heaven’s made of, I’m not afraid to die.”
