19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
MATTHEW 6:19-21
A MIGHTY-FINE AND GLORIOUS MORNIN’ TO Y’ALL!
After all our Worldly Efforts to acquire all of them Earthly Things, are we truly happy and fulfilled?
Yes, absolutely! Most of us would gleefully reply.
But the next Million-Dollar Question would be, “UNTIL WHEN?”
It’s a big one, but really now—‘til when?
Would it be until it breaks down or gets broken down? Would it be until the Next New and Big Thing comes? Or would it be until we just get tired of it?
So, what then? Would we then start hoardin’, hoardin’ an’ doin’ more a-hoardin’?
No, but of course not! I am not saying that I am any better than anyone of us are than the next Jane or, the next Joe. Or, even, I’m not saying that I am All-Knowing and have any right to bother with any of your Life Choices.
What I would wish to convey to us all is that it is really mighty-fine to pat ourselves on the back every once in a while. But, we should not get ourselves too attached to them Worldly Things and Worldly Pleasures for I tell y’all—they may eventually be the cause of our MISERY.
Believe you, me. For as Matthew 6:19 tells us,
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.”
But trust me on this, when we put all our unwavering Faith and Trust in the Lord, no more would we desire for any more of these Worldly Goods and Pleasures. Our cups would filleth over and no more would we thirst. Our stomachs will be so full and no more would we hunger. Plus, no more would we worry about anything getting broken, going passe or stolen.
