Tishomingo, Oklahoma—Blake Shelton contributed largely in making the opening of a new restaurant in his hometown, possible. The restaurant, called Ole Red Tishomingo also functions as a retail space and a cool new venue for live music. It is scheduled to have its grand opening on the 30th of September. The brand new themed dining and entertainment restaurant was, in truth, inspired by the song Ole Red, one of Shelton’s first tracks that left a definitive trademark in his career.
In an interview, Blake shares just how special the new restaurant means to him, “For a song that meant so much to me to take this shape and come to life as Ole Red has is really mind-blowing. Our community is in for a treat with the Opry bringing their famed broadcast to Tishomingo for this special show. It’s a proud day for us Oklahomans.”
Ole Red’s brand was described by Ryman Hospitality Properties’ chief executive officer, Colin Reed, as an entertainment venue that’s “all about celebrating the country lifestyle. Ole Red Tishomingo is a special place where people can experience southern Oklahoma living at its best, and we look forward to debuting it with help from Blake and members of our Opry family.”
Shelton has cooked up a truly memorable and star-studded opening night for the restaurant. On September 30, his friends and fellow country artists, RaeLynn, along with Opry members John Conlee, Ronnie Milsap, and Jeannie Seely, will be performing to open the ceremonial launching. Not only that, Shelton will also be co-hosting the program with Bill Cody, while the concert Blake & Friends will begin at 7 P.M., free of charge.
Fans who will not be able to make it to the venue on the said date will be able to watch the performance on Ole Red’s Official Facebook page via live streaming. On September 29, Shelton will also be performing for a private benefit concert on the Ole Red Tishomingo stage. All earnings from the upcoming show will go to the non-profit local charity, J.C. Reaching Out. The organization is responsible for providing financial assistance to families of individuals with cancer. Shelton’s show will be selling a total of 130 tickets, at $200 each. Ticket purchasing has been made available since the 6th of September at olered.com
