There is no greater thing in this world when your children honor you with your iconic song. This was what happened with Lukas Nelson and Shooter Jennings, son of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, respectively.
While we may no longer enjoy the presence of the great Waylon Jennings, he has with us his son who is as talented as he is. Shooter Jennings is his son with his wife and fellow country music legend, Jessi Colter.

Lukas & Shooter Team Up for “Good Hearted Woman”
In February 2016, Lukas and Shooter teamed up together to honor their legendary fathers. Singing one of Waylon’s iconic hits, “Good Hearted Woman,” they truly channeled their own fathers’ talent. They held their tribute show in San Francisco, California.
Indeed, the sons of the great country outlaw artists have proven that they are indeed the sons of these legends. As a matter of fact, the song, “Good Hearted Woman,” was co-penned by their fathers. And, the two have kept their rendition simple and accurate to the original.
After recording their fathers’ “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys,” Lukas invited Shooter to go on tour with him. In response, the latter immediately agreed and so everything then went into its place.
About “Good Hearted Woman”
As mentioned earlier, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson co-wrote this iconic song in 1969. They conceived the song together during their stay in Fort Worth, Texas. However, it was Waylon who first recorded it in 1972. A few years later, he remixed it to add on Willie’s vocals.
