For most artists, their entrance to the music scene would be the most challenging period in their career. They have to work their way up before establishing their name in this field. And, it will really take time before they are able to reap what they sow. But, for the Albanian-American singer Bebe Rexha, her rise to country music fame was no sweat. Thanks to her single “Meant to Be” for making it possible for her to gain instant fame in this music genre. Also, her collaboration with American country music duo Florida Georgia Line significantly contributed to this success.

On its first appearance on the country songs chart late last year, “Meant to Be” instantly hit the chart’s highest position. And since then, the song enjoyed the prime spot while putting itself on numerous other music charts worldwide. Such victory would soon make Rexha as the first female singer to ever debut atop the chart. Now in its 27th week as No. 1 on the country chart, “Meant to Be” becomes the longest-running No. 1 song for a lead female artist. Taylor Swift previously held that position with her “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

The Continuing Success of “Meant to Be”

It seems like “Meant to Be” isn’t going down from the chart’s top any time soon. With this happening, it is possible that the song would surpass Sam Hunt’s “Body Like a Back Road.” Currently, the song holds the crown for longest-running No. 1 single spending 34 weeks on the country chart. Moreover, Bebe Rexha’s collaborative project with Florida Georgia Line even surpassed the latter’s Cruisewith 24-week reign atop the chart. Since the chart became a mixture of data list combining airplay, streaming, and sales altogether in 2012, “Meant to Be” was the third song to debut on the chart’s summit.
