Martina McBride and Dolly Parton Recorded Cash’s “I Still Miss Someone”

“I Still Miss Someone” is one of Johnny Cash’s recordings in the late ’50s. It was a song written by Johnny and Roy Cash, Jr. “I Still Miss Someone” was performed live at the Folsom State Prison. Sadly, his song wasn’t released as a single. Therefore, it wasn’t recognized and unsuccessful. However, despite not entering the chart, “I Still Miss Someone” was recorded by various artists. The Statler Brothers, Flatt &Scruggs, Emmylou Harris, Martina McBride & Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and others covered Johnny Cash’s song.

What the Song’s All About

It’s all about remembering the person you once loved. “I Still Miss Someone,” a nostalgic song, where beautiful and sad memories of the past come running back. The narrator remembers her lover as she watches people walking together. Everywhere she goes, she is being reminded of the man she once loved, and still love. She misses him so much that it hurts her a lot.

Oh I never got over those blue eyes

I see them everywhere

I miss those arms that held me

When all the love was there
