One Man Gunned Down Outside Jason Aldean Concert

Mississippi – A man was rushed to the hospital after he was shot by a lone gunman in a nearby party at Jason Aldean’s concert, Friday. Although the victim’s identity is yet to be revealed, the gunman was identified by authorities as Steven Michael Hulbert, 22 years old, and a resident of Walls, Mississippi. On the other hand, attendees of the event were instructed to stay within the premises of Bancorp South Arena in Tupelo.

As the police investigated the events that lead to the shooting, it was discovered that the gunman opened fire at around 11:13 PM. Witnesses added that the gunfire ensued after a small group of men present in the area broke into an argument. That was when Hulbert pulled out a pistol. He then fired about four to six shots, leaving a man injured and several nearby vehicles damaged.

On the other hand, its been claimed by Todd Hunt, director for Bancorp South Arena that the staff was quick to think and act on their feet, having immediately directed civilians about to leave the venue’s premises to stay within the building due to a sudden semi-lockdown. The police were also quick to respond to the gunshots.

It’s hard to believe that the incident took place just weeks after the dreaded Route 91 shooting that left several individuals injured and killed. Coincidentally, country star Jason Aldean was present in two of the shooting accounts. His concert in Mississippi was his first after the tragedy that transpired during his performance on October 1 in Las Vegas. Following that, Aldean canceled concerts schedules over the weekends, before he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 12.

Despite the violent and sad turn of events, the singer remained unfazed and instead spoke words of bravery in front of his fans. “I’ll be damned if I’m going to let anyone scare me.”  He continued to produce outstanding performances for his supporters as well. He has likewise started a fundraising initiative for the Route 91 victims through sales gained from his rendition of Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down.
