I know you’re all excited for the next season of American Idol as it is still in the works. Rumor has it that country music star Luke Bryan will be taking a seat as judge. Hmmm…

ABC’s reboot of the popular singing competition American Idol cropped up booty shaking country music standout Luke Bryan. Pop star Katy Perry is already going to be one of the newest judge with reports saying that she closed in a $25 million contract. Also, on July 20th, it was announced on Live with Kelly and Ryan that Ryan Seacrest is making his comeback as the host for AI’s revival season.

“It’s genuinely hard to put into words what American Idol means to me. I’m so grateful for the show and all the career and life opportunities it’s allowed me to experience. It’s been an incredible journey from day one. To be asked to return this year, at my new home at Disney|ABC, is an honor, if not a bit surreal,” the host shared in a statement.

The Hollywood Reporter also stated that Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Charlie Puth are also being considered to a part of the judges’ panel although negotiations haven’t started just yet.

Auditions are set on August 17th in Florida so I guess the show producers need to make a decision as soon as possible.

Over fifteen seasons on FOX, AI had quite a mix of judges including Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, Ellen DeGeneres, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Harry Connick, Jr., and Keith Urban.

AI fans know that Keith Urban served as a judge for three seasons (12 through 15). Having Luke Bryan join the fracas makes total sense. ABC has had a strong relationship with the country genre and it even broadcasts the Country Music Awards. They were also responsible of kick starting the music careers of new country music darlings Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, and Lauren Alaina.

It seems that Luke would be open to this possibility since he already made an appearance on the show. Luke looks comfortable and we think he’ll do a great job as an American Idol judge. Would you like to see this reality?
