A press conference at the Grand Ole Opry was done on the morning of the 14th of January, Monday. It was there when it was announced that there will be a concert for Miss Lynn. She is a trailblazer for country female performers out there. She broke the ceiling for many women, making great hits such as  “You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take my Man),” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Miss Lynn had some exciting words for her birthday bash.

“I am so excited to celebrate my 87th birthday with all my friends. This is the first time I’ve ever had a birthday party! My birthday wish has come true. The only other wish I have is that Keith Urban jumps out of my birthday cake!”

The Talents

Some of the talents that would perform in the concert are Trisha Yearwood, Margo Price, Pistol Annies, Miranda Lambert. Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Martina McBride, Jack White, George Strait, Darius Rucker, Brandy Clark, and Garth Brooks also join in the ensemble.

Brooks had some heartfelt words for Miss Lynn at the Opry stage Monday morning.

“You’ve always been in my corner, you’ve always fought for me, which you’ve been busy doing that. That’s pretty much our story. I love you to pieces, and it’s just gotten better every second. … Katharine Hepburn at Radio City Music Hall [once] said, ‘If a woman has it, it doesn’t matter what she doesn’t have. If a woman doesn’t have it, it doesn’t matter what else she does have.’ I don’t know if I’ve ever met someone who has ‘it’ as much as Ms. Loretta Lynn.”

According to CMT, a portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and The Opry Trust.

Tickets for this showcase will be on the market beginning Friday via Ticketmaster. But fans can purchase tickets as early as Wednesday, by using the code CELEBRATE.
