Texas country music is known for fusing traditionalist root sounds with the outspoken outlaw country. Texas country blends theses subgenres into a ‘common working man’ with witty undertones and a ‘take it or leave it’ approach. Indeed, God has blessed Texas and this whole country with great music.
The group Little Texas has expressed God’s blessings to Texas in most of their songs. “God Blessed Texas” is a clear interpretation of this.
“God Blessed Texas” is a song recorded by American country music group Little Texas. Released in July 1993, it was the band’s second single from their second album Big Time. In addition, it was their seventh single overall.
Written by the band’s lead guitarist Porter Howell, and keyboardist and vocalist Brady Seals, the song reached no. 4 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in December of that year. With lead vocals by Tim Rushlow, the song celebrates Texas pride by saying that God must have evidently given the state special attention. And furthermore provided the state of Texas, its unique and legendary geography and demography.
