THE FIRST SIP…

“You’re just wasting your precious little energy and time! Enough o’ that foolishness I say!”

One day, there was Little Raven flying around, here and there in search of some water to drink. Well, it was a very, very hot and very dry day that even them Rivers had all dried up.

That day, there was Big Eagle hangin’ around on the branch of this tall tree waiting for Rain to come. Big Eagle incidentally was feeling parched too.

After a few hours of hangin’ around his tall tree, Big Eagle sees Little Raven hovering about then finally dropping in.

“Howdy Big Eagle,” Little Raven cheerfully said.

“Howdy yerself,” goes Big Eagle gruffly to Little Raven.

Then Little Raven goes,“Well, I know it is very, very hot and really dry these past few-, but maybe—just maybe—we could do something’  about it.”

“HA! HA! And HA-HA!” Sarcastically laughed Big Eagle then went on to say, “You crazy or somethin’? There ain’t anything you can do about it except to wait for Rain to come a-droppin’ by, you crazy li’l bird!”

By chance, near that tall tree was a dried up well. And beside that dried up well was an old broken jar which Little Raven had spotted during their little conversation (of sorts).

So Little Raven says to Big Eagle, “Okay, just hang in there while I have a look see.”

“Heh… Heh… Heh… You are jest gonna waste your energy and time you crazy little bird!” laughed Big Eagle.

“You crazy or somethin’? There ain’t anything you can do about it except to wait for Rain to come a-droppin’ by, you crazy li’l bird!”

Ignoring Big Eagle, Little Raven went ahead to have that little look-see of what is inside the old broken jar. And to his surprise, Little Raven saw that there was a little water inside. Using his little bird brain, Little Raven had an idea.

Looking around the area, he noticed that there were some pebbles lying around. So, he goes picking them up one at a time and gathering them beside the old broken jar. When the pebbles he had gathered seemed like they were enough, he started dropping them carefully inside the old broken jar.

Still hangin’ around his tall tree, Big Eagle was watching all this goings-on from the very beginning then start to laugh at Little Raven and says, “Hahaha! Y’know what Little One, you really are nuts! Hahaha! You’re just wasting your precious little energy and time! Enough o’ that foolishness I say!”

Ignoring this, Little Raven continues his little chore for a bit more when finally he stops and puts his head inside the mouth of the old broken jar.

After a minute or two, Little Raven sticks his head out and says to Big Eagle, “Hey, I left half of the water to share with you. Would you want some?”

“Well, I’ll be darned, really now?!? You really have some water in that old thing?” challengingly remarked Big Eagle.

“’Shore do!” proudly retorted Little Raven.

Bashfully, Big Eagle yields and accepts Little Raven’s invitation for a drink of water.

THE LAST DROP…

“Sometimes it takes someone who thinks differently and out-of-the-box to get this World a-goin’.”

Yep, Our Lord God Almighty really does work in Mysterious Ways. To the point of using a Little Raven to show us Big Eagles a thing or two.

Sometimes it takes someone who thinks differently and out-of-the-box to get this World a-shakin’ an’ a-movin’!

Y’all have a fine day now…

You have just been “… DRINKIN’ FROM A DIXIE…”

May y’all be Safe and Well and…

“MAY THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY BLESS US ALL AND SET US FREE!”
