Her album comprised of all covers from Male country artists, such as Merle Haggard, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and many more. “He Stopped Loving Her Today” was definitely included in her album. Her album entered the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at No. 7. In addition, the album placed at No. 32 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Grand Ole Opry Performance
LeAnn Rimes performed George Jones’ signature hit at the Grand Ole Opry Show. Before she performed the song she said,
“This is one of my all-time favorite songs I think it’s the best song that’s ever been written in country music. And God bless George.”
Rimes became a little bit emotional as she performed the song. However, she still managed to deliver it in a perfect way. Her voice suited George Jones’ song very well.
