Here at Country Thang Daily, we have listed some of his best country songs. I bet that you already heard these songs and have loved and appreciated them as I do.

Here are Josh Turner’s Top 5 Country Hits:

1. “Why Don’t We Just Dance”

This is a lead-off single from Turner’s album Haywire. This track is penned by hit songwriters Jim Beavers, Jonathan Singleton, and Darell Brown. In an interview, Josh said that from the first time he heard the song, it has already caught his attention.

He added,

“It’s an up-tempo, traditional Country song that has a very catchy melody with a lyric that poses the question ‘why don’t we just dance?’ and forget about all of the bad stuff going on the world and just concentrate on each other.”

Aside from Turner, who else loves dancing?

2. “Long Black Train”

This track was Turner’s first hit single and it is a song he debuted at the Grand Ole Opry in 2001. In addition, this song is featured on his debut album Long Back Train. Upon the song’s release, “Long Back Train” entered into Billboard Country charts and achieved gold status.

Turner shared the story behind this song. He said,

“‘Long Black Train’ was inspired by a vision that I had of a long, black train running down this track way out in the middle of nowhere. I could see people standing out to the sides of this track watching this train go by. As I was walking, experiencing this vision, I kept asking myself, ‘What does this vision mean and what is this train?’ It dawned on me that this train was a physical metaphor for temptation.

These people are caught up in the decision of whether or not to go on this train. And this came about in a time of my life where I was trying to figure out who I was as an artist and as a person… I was trying to learn how to deal with the freedom that I had away from home for the first time. ‘Long Black Train,’ the song and the album, are very special to me. It was just one of those things that I felt like God gave to me for a purpose, and I’ve been out here promoting that purpose.”

This song enlightens people that God has a purpose in everything. Isn’t it lovely?

3. “Your Man”

I consider this track as one of my favorite Josh Turner songs. It’s been 14 years since this song came out but it still rings today. In fact, this track was recorded by numerous music artists and made their own versions of it.

“Your Man” became his first number 1 song that charted on the Billboard country charts and it achieved gold status.

I’ve been thinking ’bout this all day long
Never felt a feeling quite this strong
I can’t believe how much it turns me on
Just to be your man

Every woman dreams to have the man who is proud to have them and the man who will love and protect them without a cost.

4. “Would You Go with Me”

It is a deep country love song penned by Shawn Camp and John Scott Sherrill. This track was released in April 2006 a second single from Turner’s album Your Man. Upon the song’s release, “Would You Go with Me” entered into country charts and peaked number 1 on the US Hot Country Songs chart.

Would You Go with Me” became Turner’s second number 1 hit after his song “Your Man” topped the Billboard Country chart in 2006. This song also achieved a certified Platinum by the RIAA.

If I gave you my hand would you take it
And make me the happiest man in the world
If I told you my heart couldn’t beat one more minute without you, girl
Would you accompany me to the edge of the sea
Let me know if you’re really a dream
I love you so, so would you go with me

Would you take the risk of giving your heart to someone without any conditions? Somehow, some people think that they already know the meaning of love but it still failed. Why? That is because they think that love is easy, like the first stage of a relationship, but in reality, it’s not. I believe that you would only know someone when you have already been together for a long time.

Upon the song’s release, “Firecracker” entered into country charts and peaked number 2 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

Son of a gun she fun to handle
And she packs a punch like a roman candle
She a pack of black cats in a red paper wrapper
My little darlin’ is a firecracker

“Firecracker” is inspired by a girl, who Turner remembers back in his hometown. The girl was described as a firecracker.
