“Would You Go With Me” is a song that defines love with no boundaries and limits patched with a jivey tune and melody. Surely, this song can suit your mood. Let Josh Turner take you down the streets of fire while holding each other’s hands. Indeed, he will bring you anywhere to have the bliss of a lifetime.
Josh Turner is undeniably a devotee of the new era of honky-tonk. It is because of his deep-toned voice and style of music. However, Turner is a breath of fresh air yet an old soul. He’s one of the few artists who embrace the real roots of country music.
Would You Go With Me…
The song was Josh Turner’s second No.1 single after “Your Man.” From October 14 to October 21, 2006, “Would You Go With Me” became No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Furthermore, Shawn Camp and John Scott Sherrill are the songwriters behind the words and lyrics of “Would You Go With Me.” It was released in 2006 under his album “Your Man.”
Would you go with me if we rolled down streets of fire
You hold on to me tighter as the summer sun got higher
If we roll from town to town and never shut it down
Would you go with me if we were lost in fields of clover
We walk even closer until the trip was over
And would it be okay if I didn’t know the way
If I gave you my hand would you take it
And make me the happiest man in the world
If I told you my heart couldn’t beat one more minute without you, girl
Would you accompany me to the edge of the sea
Let me know if you’re really a dream
I love you so, so would you go with me
Would you go with me if we rode the clouds together
Could you not look down forever
If you were lighter than a feather
Oh, and if I set you free, would you go with me
As a young boy, Turner grew up singing in the church. He founded and formed the group called “Thankful Hearts” wherein he sang bass. Also, Turner sang baritone parts in choirs. Due to a lesion on his right vocal cord, Turner learned classical vocal techniques which he mostly applies to his songs.
Turner enrolled in Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his musical career. After a long wait and lots of hard work, he got his debut when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry. He releases his signature song “Long Black Train.”
Finally, in 2006, after years of creating songs, Turner placed his very first number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart which is called “Your Man.” The single was certified Gold by RIAA, and it was documented to sell over 1,307,000 in the United States.
