As we begin the year 2019, it would be great to reflect on our relationship with God and see how it is going. It would be even greater if we make it as part of our goals this year to live much closer to Him. After all, He is God and everything is under His control. This means that no matter how great our goals and dreams would be if we do not put these unto God’s hands, everything will just fall topieces. Let Josh Turner’s song “Me and God” bring us closer to the Almighty Father and help us strengthen our bond with Him as we sing along.
Immersing Into the Lyrics
The song begins with a solemn instrument playing before Turner made a flawless entrance in the first verse. At the very opening of the song, we can see a man with a profound faith in God. He sings of the unlimited things that the two of them can do together. Also, he displayed his strong belief that one day, they’ll be united in paradise with all the angels.
There ain’t nothing that can’t be done
By me and God
Ain’t nobody come in between me and God
One day we’ll live together
Where the angels trod
Me and God
In the succeeding stanzas, the singer went on to tell everyone how inseparable he and God is. He is affirming what he previously mentioned in the first verse that nobody would come in between God and Him. He considered the Almighty as his father, friend, his beginning and end. Finally, he ended the song by expressing God’s strength which he can rely on at all times, and also His ability to forgive sins each time he falls.
With this song, Josh Turner is actually leading us to draw closer to God. The relationship that they have as he sang it should be the kind that we need to develop. It grows stronger and deeper every single day.
