The “Coolest” Incident that Ever Happened to John Berry
Sometime in 1981, when John Berry was still fresh from starting a recording career, he met an accident. The American country singer was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. The incident had a huge impact on him both physically and mentally. He suffered from broken legs and left hip which almost caused him unable to walk again. In order to regain the use of his legs, Berry has undergone physical therapy for several months. Although the doctors fear he might become disabled, the singer was determined to help himself. While working on the restoration of his damaged physical parts, the singer maintained an unshaken belief that he’ll surpass this trial in his life. This is not to mention that at the time of the accident, Berry’s mother has just passed away. [Read about Vivian Liberto’s relationship with Johnny Cash here].
Berry displayed a positive approach toward the incident. He later shared, “The coolest thing in the world that came out of it…all I could do is sit on my stool and play guitar. That’s all I’ve done ever since.”
After two years, Berry was seen elsewhere in Georgia performing solo acoustic shows. Eventually, the singer has established a strong name and acquired solid followers both from the northeast and southeast regions of the country.
