'The Coolest Thing' that Came Out of John Berry's Accident 1

The “Coolest” Incident that Ever Happened to John Berry

Sometime in 1981, when John Berry was still fresh from starting a recording career, he met an accident. The American country singer was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. The incident had a huge impact on him both physically and mentally. He suffered from broken legs and left hip which almost caused him unable to walk again. In order to regain the use of his legs, Berry has undergone physical therapy for several months. Although the doctors fear he might become disabled, the singer was determined to help himself. While working on the restoration of his damaged physical parts, the singer maintained an unshaken belief that he’ll surpass this trial in his life.  This is not to mention that at the time of the accident, Berry’s mother has just passed away. Berry displayed a positive approach toward the incident. He later shared, “The coolest thing in the world that came out of it…all I could do is sit on my stool and play guitar. That’s all I’ve done ever since.”

After two years, Berry was seen elsewhere in Georgia performing solo acoustic shows. Eventually, the singer has established a strong name and acquired solid followers both from the northeast and southeast regions of the country.

John Berry’s Short Career Info

Since he started his recording in 1979, American country music singer Jerry Berry has already produced a substantial amount of albums and singles. Of his more than twenty studio albums, one has been certified platinum and two acquired gold. In addition, the singer has nineteen singles that charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His career breakthrough took place in 1994 with his single “Your Love Amazes Me” reaching the top of the Hot Country Songs chart. Although none of his succeeding songs became number one after that, six of his other releases became top 10 hits. In 2010, during his 12th Annual Christmas tour, Berry performed an a cappella version of “Oh Holy Night”. Below is a video of Berry’s hit entitled “You and Only You” that reached No. 1 on RPM country chart in Canada.

Don’t You Know That…?

John Berry has been invited to sing at the birthday party of former president George H. W. Bush. Mrs. Bush has invited him. The singer then received high praises from the couple for his performance.
