Why is it important to accept Christ as our Savior? Why do we need to be washed by the blood of Christ? Knowing Jesus and accepting Him as our Savior and the Son of God can help us on many aspects of our life. When you say washed by the blood of the Lamb, it means that we accept that Jesus laid down his life for us. He died for us so that our sins may be forgiven. Moreover, we will enter his Kingdom when the right time comes. Therefore, folks, are you washed in the blood of Christ?
Inspired: Songs of Faith and Family Album
In 2013, husband and wife, Joey and Rory Feek, released another gospel album known as Inspired: Songs of Faith and Family. Their album is comprised of traditional gospel songs and some new materials. The gospel songs that the duo covered were “Are You Washed in the Blood,” “Amazing Grace,” and “In the Garden.” The couple also wrote their own songs for this album, such as “Gotta Go Back,” “Hammerin’ Nails,” and “I See Him.” The tracks in the album were all based on the songs that the couple loved and grew up with. Rory and Joey are both known for recording beautiful gospel songs.
Album Chart Performance
Their fourth studio album made it to the Billboard chart. Inspired: Songs of Faith and Family placed at No. 27 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. In addition, it reached No. 126 on the Billboard 200 chart. However, none of the singles they recorded for their album secured a spot on the chart.
The Songwriter
One of the traditional gospel songs that the duo covered was the hymn “Are You Washed in the Blood.” The song was written by a pastor named Elisha A. Hoffman in 1878. Hoffman wrote 2000 hymns all through his life. Furthermore, Hoffman’s other known compositions were “What a Wonderful Savior” and “Down at the Cross.”
The Song
The song speaks of accepting Jesus as our Savior. It’s about letting Him enter into our lives and take control of it. If we let Jesus in, we will know that we are saved, and we are cleansed from all of our sins. As the song ends, it tells us to let accept Jesus and believe in Him.
“O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!”
The phrase Washed in the blood of the Lamb means to accept Jesus as our Savior and follow Him.
