We all grew up hearing people tell us about Jesus. Still, experience beats knowledge. There will always be that one encounter with the living Christ which will ultimately rock our understanding of reality.
That simply is the theme of today’s feature. It’s ICMA’s “Best Video of the Year” for 2018 and performed by Kali Rose. Briefly, Jesus went into a bar called “Rusty Nails” and left the people in there forever changed.
Watch: Jesus on the Jukebox
The scene when Jesus headed straight to the Jukebox could be well considered the music video’s highlight. He did not touch any button, but to everyone’s amazement, they heard Gospel songs played in succession from “I saw the Light,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “Are You Washed in the Blood” and “Amazing Grace.” Curious, a lady looked into the jukebox only to discover that the machine was programmed only to play honky-tonk and rock songs.
Prior to being hailed Best Video of the Year for 2018, ICMA named “Jesus on the Jukebox” the “Inspirational Country Song of the Year” in 2016. In addition, Kali Rose received three nominations for Dove Awards that same year.
Kali Rose: Enriching Life with Inspirational Music
Besides working as a model for ads and commercials, music remains to be Kali Rose’s first love. Her music is prominent among gospel loving folks frequenting radio stations playing inspirational and Christian songs. Like most emerging artists, Rose credits her musical background singing in church. Fusing her talent and faith, Rose devoted her time to produce inspirational songs in a Country format ceaselessly.
Proof that she’s worth her salt, Kali Rose repeatedly receives nominations and awards from Dove and ICMA. Twice, ICMA named her “Female Vocalist of the Year” in 2011 and 2015. In 2013, ICMA awarded her as “Entertainer of the Year.”
