It’s been a long time but, CMA’s 50th anniversary was a blast. It was not only the night where legendary country singers were honored. It was not also the night where awards were given. Moreover, it was the night where big names in the industry came together on stage and gave a standing ovation performance. There was the Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood duet, and Brooks & Dunn together with Jason Aldean. However, the best of all was the surprising medley of Alan Jackson and the King of Country Music, George Strait.
Alan Jackson and George Strait’s Performance
Alan Jackson began by singing his song “Remember When.” He was singing and playing the guitar on stage, and after a while, George Strait walked in and joined Alan. Strait performed his chart-topping single “Troubadour.” They mash-up the songs together, and well, you know what happens. It’s something you’ll never expect – an amazing and incredible duet!
“Remember When” is a hit single written by Alan Jackson. The song was inspired by his love story with his wife. It began from the time they met until they grow old together. This love song reached the top of the Billboard giving Jackson his twenty-second number one on the country chart. Furthermore, the song crossed over to the pop chart at number twenty-nine. His single was also Platinum-certified by RIAA.
George Strait’s single “Troubadour” was written by Leslie Satcher and Monty Holmes in 2008. Strait recorded it in the same year. His song reached number seven on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Furthermore, it was able to cross over the pop chart and land at number fifty-four.
