However, Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson‘s 1984 recording became more famous. it appeared on Iglesias’s album 1100 Bel Air Place. A breakthrough for Iglesias in the English language market, the song peaked at no. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 1 on the Canadian RPM Top Singles.
Moreover, “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” went to number one on the country chart. It was one of two entries on the country chart for Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson as a duo. The second was “Spanish Eyes”, which peaked at #8 in late 1988.

Thanks to this song, 1100 Bel Air Place became Iglesias’ worldwide best selling album. In 1984, Nelson and Iglesias were also named “Duo of the Year” by the Country Music Association. In addition, “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” was named Single of the Year by the Academy of Country Music.

In 1984, “To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before” peaked at the top spot in around five music charts internationally. It was no. 1 in the Belgian VRT Top 30, Canadian RPM Adult Contemporary Tracks, Canadian RPM Country Tracks, and Canadian RPM Top Singles. Moreover, it also reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles.
Furthermore, it was certified platinum in both US and Canada while gold in Belgium and Australia.
