CMA was a haven for honky-tonk music before, and it also brought rare moments when country divas such as Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lyn all join forces on one stage singing a good ole country music such as Silver Threads And Golden Needles.
Silver Threads And Golden Needles, Honky Tonk Angels
It’s no secret that it’s not a Dolly Parton original and Linda Ronstadt did an excellent job way back in 1973 to peak the song in the Top 20 country list. Silver Threads And Golden Needles was definitely covered by a lot of country artists.
On this video below when Vince Gill won the Entertainer of the Year award, he and the audience were blessed with a trio performance from the powerhouse of country music. We wished we could have been in that rare moment, but we are forever grateful that this happened in the country history.

“Silver Threads And Golden Needles”
I don’t want your lonely mansion with a tear in every room
All I want’s the love you promised beneath the haloed moon
But you think I should be happy with your money and your name
And hide myself in sorrow while you play your cheating gameSilver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
And I dare not drown my sorrows in the warm glow of your wine
You can’t buy my love with money cause I never was that kind
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mineSilver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
And I dare not drown my sorrows in the warm glow of your wine
You can’t buy my love with money cause I never was that kind
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mineSilver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
