Once upon a time
The duo was a couple of country music stars. However, together they had burst through the confines of genre to become one of the most talked-about celebrity duos anywhere. And while they couldn’t help but enjoy the boost that their headline-making romance gave to their respective careers, they really did seem like kindred spirits.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert might not be an item anymore. They divorced in 2015. Nevertheless, they will always be one of country music’s greatest couples. Miranda won both Song of the Year for “Tin Man” and Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas this weekend. Blake attended the show with his new love, Gwen Stefani, we couldn’t help but think about what once was.
Love at First Sight
In 2005, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton joined together in an unforgettable duet, and the two explained that it was ‘love at first sight.‘
When Miranda came on stage, Blake Shelton had the most adorable grin on his face and seemed mesmerized by Miranda’s beautiful looks. Miranda Lambert sang her part in the duet of “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma“, Blake fell fast and hard for the petite, blonde, country singer.
Blake explained about this first encounter with his future wife, “
“I was a married guy, you know, standing up there going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her right there onstage.”
Miranda Lambert agrees with Blake that they had this instant chemistry between them. It’s amazing to see the chemistry between these two, and it’s a lovely compilation of different adorable moments in their relationship.
No matter how upset you might’ve been at the Blake and Miranda breakup or how excited you were when the duo each found love elsewhere, the former couple’s love story is too great not to remember, especially since it inspired numerous country hits for both singers.
