Kacey Musgraves recently won the CMA’s Album of the Year. It came as a surprise to everyone including Kacey Musgraves. We think she really deserves to bring home the prize. Kacey’s album, Golden Hour, is a blend of her country roots, pop, and disco style. Hence, it stood out among other artists’ albums. However, before the CMA’s Kacey performed at the Grand Ole Opry. This time she sang her country-pop single “High Horse.”
Kacey Musgraves’ Grand Ole Opry Performance
Musgraves performed at the Grand Ole Opry show on September 11, 2018. She was accompanied with stringed instruments on stage where you can hear each instrument clearly play while Kacey performs her song. Kacey looks effortlessly incredible as she was performing. What a spectacular performance!
“High Horse” is one of Kacey’s singles from her top-performing album Golden Hour. The song entered the Billboard chart and reached number thirty-six. It may not have reached number one, but we can definitely agree that it has a satisfying beat to dance with. In addition, we love that Kacey always has something important to say in her songs.
The Song’s Message
Arrogance is the main topic of Kacey’s song. She describes every characteristic of an arrogant person, from thinking they are right all the time to how they think they know everything.
“Oh, I bet you think you’re John Wayne
Showing up and shooting down everybody
You’re classic in the wrong way
And we all know the end of the story.”
You will totally agree with Kacey that people who are arrogant think they are better than everyone and cannot be pulled down.
“I bet you think you’re first place
Yeah, someone should give you a ribbon
And put you in the hall of fame
For all the games that you think that you’re winning.”
Kacey certainly knows how to write a song we all want to express. Way to go, Kacey! And, congratulations for winning CMA’s Album of the Year.
