Do you still remember Keith Harling? He is the country artist behind the song “Papa Bear” and “Coming Back For You.” I’m pretty sure, many country music obsessives out there are missing him a lot. Since it’s his birthday today, let’s all greet him “Happy Birthday.”
He hasn’t been active in the country music industry nowadays, but he had contributed his works of art in the industry. Moreover, Harling is considered as one of the old soul country music artists, with his deep voice and dedication to country.
Bit About Keith Harling…
Keith Harling was born on May 8, 1963, in Greenwood, South Carolina. Harling made his debut in 1998 when he released his very first album “Write It In Stone” from his record label MCA. The album produced four singles. The following year, Harling released his second album “Bring It On” under his record label Giant Records.
Furthermore, at the age of 10, Harling made a “drum kit” which helped and taught him how to play. Also, Harling learned to sing by mimicking songs on the television. Back in his high school, he learned to play the instruments such as bass guitar, saxophone, and trumpet. He all used these instruments when he joined different bands.
In 1996, he worked as a songwriter under MCA Nashville Records. After a short period of six weeks, he was signed to record a deal. In 1998, he started his career as a country music artist. Due to unsuccessful or fewer response records, he was dropped from MCA. Then he transferred to Giant Records. However, he had a hard time penetrating the country music world, and he didn’t make it. With this, Harling decided to quit music.
Harling is currently living in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife. They are operating a business.

“Papa Bear” and “Coming Back For You” were Harling’s most successful singles. Unfortunately, the songs didn’t make it to top 10 on the country charts.
