Five years ago, in 2012, (that is if you still remember) Shania Twain had to cancel her shows in Las Vegas due to vocal problems. However, it was just recently that she revealed how bad the “vocal problem” was.
The Canadian-born country singer had the condition called vocal dysphonia, and it is just now that she opened up about what truly came down and the details of what she had to go through.
Seemingly, Twain was also suffering from Lyme disease. It is a bacteria transmitted when an infected deer tick bites its host. These deer ticks are about the size of poppy seeds. Twain did not say where she may have gotten it but she did say something about the long and difficult therapy for her to get back into shape and perform again.
“I learned a lot about myself, and my voice, both because I’d been having a lot of problems with my voice prior and because this was a real plunge into the unknown,” Twain shared with the Los Angeles Times.
Despite all that, Shania seems to be in a better place right now, physically and mentally, as her song says ““Life’s About to Get Good” and she debuted the tune at last weekend’s Stagecoach Music Festival.
Here is her performance. Enjoy!
When writing “Life’s About to Get Good,” Shania explains, “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song.” The songwriter recognized that with all of the negative in life also comes the positive. “You can¹t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
The song has already been released but the album will be out September. The details of it, like the title and track listing, have not been released yet.
Going back to the Stagecoach Music Festival, she definitely gave her fans a treat as she performed “Party for Two” featuring Nick Jonas and the 1990’s classic “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
I am sure you’re excited for her new album’s release after 15 years because I definitely am! I’ll keep posted about Shania Twain so watch out for that.
