People are people; sometimes, we make mistakes and wrong decisions in life. There are instances wherein we tend to do bad deeds to others as well as to ourselves. We could still save ourselves from miseries and sins. I Saw the Light…
Hank Williams himself wrote the words and lyrics of “I Saw the Light.” His mother inspired him to write the song. Returning from a concert, Hank Williams was sleeping in the back seat of their car. His mother was driving the car. As she was approaching, she saw the light at the airport. Shen then awakens her son and murmured “I Saw the Light.” Apparently, that very scenario inspired Hank Williams to write the song.
Upon its release, “I Saw the Light” didn’t receive a good response. It took years to be recognized. Now, the song is considered as one of the most popular gospel songs of Hank Williams. In fact, it became a standard in the country music and country gospel. Also, it was recorded by numerous artists like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many more.

Hiram Hank Williams is one of the most influential musicians and songwriters of the 20th century. He recorded country songs and gospels that merely affected and touched people. Also, he has eleven singles that topped the country charts.
He influenced Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, George Jones, The Rolling Stones, and others. Hank Williams was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
