In “Green Pastures” We All Shall Go and Live Forever

In "Green Pastures" We All Shall Go and Live Forever 1

Each time we ponder on God’s wonderful works, we’ll find ourselves amazed by His mighty hands over and over again. As what the Holy Bible taught us, He created the heavens and the earth. He provided every single thing, big or small, that makes life possible and more meaningful before putting us into the picture. Undeniably, the beauty of every creature He has made cannot be overemphasized.

Lying Down on Green Pastures

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” – Psalm 23: 1-3

The sight of green pastures is truly refreshing. Lying down on it would be justly comforting. That experience exists on earth and it’s indeed pleasurable. Who doesn’t think such is possible in heaven too? It, definitely, is! And the enjoyment that the heavenly green pastures could offer us is way greater than what we ever had from the ones on earth.

To get a feel of those green pastures above, let us listen to this inspiring bluegrass gospel song rendered by two well-known bluegrass singers, Emmylou Harris and Ricky Skaggs.

Message of the Song

As we sing through the lyrics, we are somehow led to that fair place. A marvelous destination where God wants us all to be with Him. While the world we’re living in becomes increasingly filled with troubles, driving us to wander in the wilderness, God’s searching never stops. A loving God as He is, He’s always on the go to find every lost soul and put them in their rightful place.

Though the path we’re treading on is extremely rocky, as long as we stick with God’s leading, we’re surely heading to that marvelous place. Our heavenly home where, as the green pastures would never get dry, we will live and die no more.

Going up to live in green pastures

Where we shall live and die no more

Even the Lord will be in that number

When we shall reach that heavenly shore
