Grateful Loretta Lynn after New Year’s Accident Suffering a Broken Hip

In May 2017, Lynn suffered a stroke and recovered for several months in a rehabilitation center.  Her family members regularly assured fans she was improving. After the stroke, she made her first appearance in the 2017 Tennessee Motorcycle and Music Revival at her ranch. In October, she again appeared at the 2017 Country Music Hall of Fame induction to induct her friend, Alan Jackson. She performed “Coal Miner’s Daughter” while sitting in a chair surrounded by family. Since then, we haven’t really seen much of the renowned singer, perhaps because she is still recovering from her stroke in May.

First Mention of the Incident

On Monday, January 8, it has been revealed through a Facebook post that Loretta Lynn has suffered another health ordeal. Her sister, country singer Crystal Gayle, told how Loretta had fallen down and as a result, broke her hip. Gayle went on asking her fans to send their love and prayers to Lynn, her only wish for her birthday – January 9. It read,

“My birthday wish is for everyone to send love and prayers to my sister, Loretta Lynn, who fell and broke her hip last week. I was with Loretta yesterday. She is in good spirits as well as can be expected with this type of injury.”

Gayle, later on, stated that Lynn broke her hip the previous week. Even though Lynn underwent the injury on New Year’s Day, Gayle’s post was the first source bringing up her injury. Her daughter Patsy, suspects their new puppy as the cause of Loretta’s fall. Country music fans propelled outpouring love and prayers to Loretta Lynn after learning she injured her hip.

Finally, Lynn’s team released an announcement a little later on Monday, January 8. The announcement confirmed the news that Lynn fractured her hip after suffering a fall at her home.

The statement also enclosed a sweet message of thanks from Lynn herself, reading, “She is doing well and thanks all her fans for their thoughts and prayers.”

Let’s not cease to pray for her fast and whole recovery to be able to watch a performance like this, again.
